Capacity Building Programme

About the Public Economics Capacity Building Programme

The Public Economics Capacity Building Programme (PECB) is a special project which aims to strengthen capacity building initiatives in developmental economics, public policy and public economics. Its focus is on bridging the gap between policy and practice. It creates spaces, platforms and opportunities for shared learning and debate through which to improve decision-making in the public sector. The programme is rooted in the South African legal and institutional context, and is committed to a vision of sharing, shaping and engaging other African economies similarly.
